Happiness & Longevity with Dr Tim Sharp (Dr Happy)

Live happier, live longer! In partnership with the SA Health & Medical Research Institute and with support from Office of the Ageing, Happiness and Longevity with Dr. Tim Sharp (aka Dr. Happy) was held in the SAHMRI Auditorium on 27th October. The event consisted of a mini-expo of stakeholders followed by a keynote presentation and Q&A by Dr. Tim Sharp.

Over one hundred people were in attendance to hear Dr. Sharp's views on ageing, happiness, health and longevity. Adding to the happy vibe was our flash mob of dancers who had everyone clapping along to 'Happiness' by Pharrell Williams. Thanks to Kay MacKenzie for organising dancing group.

His insightful 2 hour presentation cannot be summarised in a few words, but some of Dr Happy's key points were;

- Keep active

- Eat a healthy diet

- Socialise with family and friends and stay connected with your community

- Have a positive outlook; focus on what you have and not what you don't have

- Ensure you have enough sleep
