Exercising at home for older people

We have been fortunate enough to secure screen time to highlight some of our very important messages!

The Active Ageing Australia team will feature in two stories spanning over two weeks on the TV program Outdoors Indoors, a South Australian produced TV show hosted by Kim Syrus. In our two stories we will be covering the following key topics.

Falls prevention - Sunday 17 June (aired live on Channel 9 South Australia, 4.30pm ACST)

Our falls prevention story will highlight the experience of Pat, an older South Australian woman who, like so many older Australians, wants to stay active and independent but has recently had some falls. Our occupational therapist talks about the importance of falls prevention and steps that you can take at any age to help yourself or loved ones.

Exercising at home for older people - Sunday 24 June (aired live on Channel 9 South Australia, 4.30pm ACST)

In this story our Education & Training Coordinator Kay MacKenzie teaches Kim important exercises for strength and balance. Kay also explains why exercising at home has many great benefits for older people!

Catch up TV will be available on 9Now, and the individual stories will be on our YouTube channel after the episode air dates.
